I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I started my research endeavors in 2008 with Dr. Steve Jones in the neurology department at the Allegheny Singer Research Institute. In 2012, I graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a B.S. in Biology. During my junior and senior years there, I worked in the lab of Dr. Liem Nguyen where I studied antibiotic resistance factors in mycobacteria. I then entered the Virology Program at Harvard and joined the Whelan lab in August, 2013. I plan to study human endogenous retroviral envelope proteins and their interactions with cellular membranes. Aside from research, I enjoy all things hockey as well as playing the guitar.
